Amy Benoit Frappier, who earned her earth science and Honors undergraduate degree in ’99, was featured in a recent episode of NOVA on PBS, called ”Volatile Earth: Killer Hurricanes.” Amy discussed the science of climate change and hurricanes, based on her research into historic climate patterns. Amy is an associate professor and department chair in the department of geosciences at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. Check it out via WGBH membership or on iTunes!
Julie Ashe Milan, who earned her master’s in ’99 and doctorate in ’04 in food sciences from UMaine, works as a dietician and consultant in the Bangor area. She’s also a certified yoga instructor, who leads integrated wellness classes that incorporate both mindful eating and movement. She and her husband, Charles, are renovating the home where they live with their two children, Hope and Henry.
Matt Arsenault, who earned his undergraduate degree in kinesiology in ’99 and his M.Ed. at UMaine in ’07, was inducted into the Old Town High School Athletic Hall of Fame. Matt scored a school-record 1,296 points while playing basketball at Old Town High School, helping to carry his team to the 1991 Class A state championship. He now works with student athletes as the athletic administrator at Central High School in Corinth.
