Hello all,
Tina Whitney Meserve ’98G, graduate of Mt. Blue High School, is “thrilled to be returning to this place that has meant so much to me over the years,” as the superintendent of Regional School Unit 9, in Farmington. Prior to this role, she served as superintendent of RSU 16 in Poland, assistant superintendent of RSU 16, curriculum coordinator for Augusta School Department, and literacy specialist for MSAD 52.
Barry M. Maloney ‘91G, a Worcester, MA, resident and president of Worcester State University (WSU), has been appointed to a three-year term on the St. Vincent Hospital Board of Trustees. He also served 20 years in senior administrative roles at Westfield State University before being named president of WSU in 2011.
Scott and Jennifer Dill Ouellette of Summerville, SC, are president and event coordinator, respectively, of the UMaine Alumni of the Lowcountry in South Carolina. They hosted their seventh annual Lobster Maine-ia with 53 UMaine alumni, family, and friends present. Besides socializing and enjoying lobster, the group raises scholarship money for deserving students attending UMaine. This year the group raised over $4,000 towards the scholarship fund. Jenn and Scott encourage all ‘89 classmates to get involved in their own local Alumni group, and if you find you don’t have one reach out to the Alumni office to see what you might need to do to get a group started. It’s a great opportunity to catch up with fellow Mainers and to give back to your alma mater!
Jenn is in her 20th year as a stylist, showroom coordinator, and a social occasion dress designer for House of Wu. Scott’s career as a sales engineer for Rexnord/Falk is now approaching 16 years.
It’s a light news cycle for the class. I know many of you have been doing wonderful things — please connect and let me know what they are!
