Happy fall! As I write it is a very humid summer evening and the idea of crisp fall days seems far away but I know it’ll be here before we know it! This issue we have a couple of updates around football and one within HR, so let’s get to it!

With a lengthy NFL career, Brian Gaine’s new professional home is as general manager to the Houston Texans. Brian played tight end at UMaine and was named rookie of the year in 1992. His career as a player included time on the practice squads with the New York Giants, the New York Jets, and the Kansas City Chiefs before moving to the scouting department of the Jets. Most recently he was the Buffalo Bills’ VP of player personnel. Congratulations, Brian!

In other football news, Alan Mosca ’09G, the head coach of the Bangor Rams, has stepped down after three years. Bangor is Alan’s alma mater and he began his coaching career there while still a student at UMaine. Alan is also a physical education teacher in the Bangor School Department and continues as the head coach of the high school indoor track and field team.

Kelley Shimansky ‘95G was named the chief human resources officer at Tyler Technologies. In the position, she oversees HR for more than 4,000 employees across North America. Prior to Tyler Technologies she did HR for Dechra Pharmaceuticals and Putney, and earlier with WEX. Tyler Technologies is based in Yarmouth and provides end-to-end information management solutions and services to local governments.

That’s all for the Class of ’95 this time around. Cheers!
