REUNION at Homecoming October 26-28, 2018
Hello, Class of 2013! I’m pleased to introduce myself as your new class correspondent. Since graduation, I’ve been pursuing a Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology at Michigan State University. Although unfortunately I’m not able to make it back to Maine very often right now, I would love to hear what everyone else has been up to! Please feel free to post on the class Facebook page or email me with your news.
Here are a couple of updates from others in our class:
Jesse Labreck was named as a member of the UMaine Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2018. Jesse is being honored for her numerous accomplishments in track and field while at UMaine; she graduated with nine school records. After appearing on the competitive sports show American Ninja Warrior, Jesse also now manages Ultimate Ninjas, two gyms in Illinois offering workouts similar to those seen on the show.
Courtney Maynard is an elders case manager for Child & Family, a large social services provider in Rhode Island. She lives in Providence.
Amamihe Onwuachumba G, ’16 Ph.D. was profiled in the biographical publication Marquis Who’s Who in recognition of his excellence in the field of electrical and computer engineering. Amamihe currently works as a power systems engineer at RLC Engineering.
Tyler Walsh has joined the men’s hockey coaching staff at Colby College as assistant coach. Tyler previously worked as the head hockey coach at North Yarmouth Academy and assistant coach for USA Hockey’s National Development Team.
