Greetings, classmates! We hope you all survived the winter and you’re enjoying spring wherever you are. Just in case you lost count or missed the postcard that went out from the Alumni Association, this year is a big one for the Class of 1994. That’s right, it is a reunion year and it happens to be the big TWO-FIVE for us. So mark your calendar for Homecoming Weekend (October 25-27) and plan to meet us in Orono.
There’s a Class of 1994 page on Facebook that could use some attention, so join it, get scanning those old photos, and help us out.
In very exciting news, Beth won the general election and is now the Oxford County Treasurer. Congratulations, Beth!
Chad Foye was hired last year to be the new athletic director at Messalonskee High School. Chad previously spent over 20 years at Cony High School coaching multiple sports including hockey and lacrosse.
We previously wrote about Andrea Carver, a substance abuse case manager with Acadia Hospital, who worked with the Bangor Police Department through a substance abuse assistance grant. Although the Legislature did not renew funding for the grant, the police department found the program to be valuable enough to include in the police department budget. Andrea continues to help the police handle people in crisis from drug addiction and mental health issues.
Sally Poole Farrell was hired by the Central Lincoln County YMCA as the pre-K lead teacher. She previously served on the board of the YMCA, was a member of the Great Salt Bay Community School Board, and was the lead preschool and pre-K/kindergarten teacher at Sheepscot Valley Children’s House in Wiscasset.
Andrew Campo has been the band director at Montezuma-Cortez Middle School in Cortez, CO, since 2011. He recently saw an increase in band enrollment, which necessitated reaching out to the community for donations of instruments and funds so that all students could participate regardless of their financial situation.
