Defenseman Dan Renouf joined a new NHL franchise, leaving the Carolina Hurricanes to join the Colorado Avalanche. Dan also played for the AHL’s Calder Cup champions, the Charlotte Checkers, last year.
Continuing the trend of good news in Black Bear hockey alums, former UMaine goalie Mariah Fujimagari has signed a contract with the National Women’s Hockey League’s Buffalo Beauts. Mariah’s coaches have always praised her work ethic and drive, and will surely continue to in the days ahead.
