Thanks to underwriting assistance from Bangor Savings Bank, the Alumni Association is producing a special edition of MAINE Alumni Magazine that will chronicle the impact of COVID-19 on alumni, students, and the University of Maine.
“Our objective is to capture the diverse ways in which members of the UMaine community reacted, adjusted, and responded to the pandemic’s disruption of their lives,” explained John N. Diamond ’77, ’89G, the Association’s president and executive director.
The Association has created a special online form on which alumni can share stories about their experience during these unprecedented times, Diamond explained.
“We will use excerpts of what we receive in the magazine and will share everything we receive with Fogler Library, which is compiling perspectives and materials for future research and study,” he said.
The 84-page special edition will be published in July. In addition to alumni perspectives, the magazine will feature first-person testimonials currently being sought from UMaine’s Class of 2020 and university officials. The publication will also include additional campus and alumni news, including features on the 2020 Alumni Achievement Award recipients.
