Not too much news from our class this time.
Dick Whitmore G was honored by his Colby College alumni players recently. They raised $2.1 million to endow the position of Richard L. Whitmore, Jr. Head Coach for Colby Men’s Basketball. This outstanding award also included naming the head basketball coach’s office in honor of his wife, Mary Kay Whitmore. An outstanding honor for a man who has touched so many players’ lives.
Jane Merrill Berube has written that she and her family are living in Washington state and busy. Their life focuses on their son, who is still in a wheelchair and has a trach and feed tube. Jane still dances with and directs the Mas Uda Middle Eastern dancers. They will be dancing at the Olympia Dance Festival and an annual benefit for the Girl Scouts of Western Washington. Last fall Jane, her husband, and son took the train to Chicago to watch the Cubs play at Wrigley Field.
