Greetings, classmates! I hope this finds you all well!
I’ll start our column this time around by congratulating Stephanie McCoy Mulligan on self-publishing her very first book How to Catch a Keeper. This adorable children’s book tells the story of siblings who join their dad for a day of lobster fishing, and it won a silver medal in the 2019 Moonbeam Children’s Book Awards! Stephanie lives in Lincoln with classmate Matthew Mulligan and their children.
Congratulations also go out to Sean Sormanti, who was named senior vice president of human resources at Greenfield Cooperative Bank in Greenfield, MA. Sean will be responsible for recruiting, planning, coordinating, and managing the activities of the bank’s human resources department.
I also received word that Andrew Gerke was posthumously honored with the Clayton-Doud award, from his Sig Ep fraternity during their national conclave in Houston. The Clayton-Doud award recognizes brothers who exemplify the fraternity’s charge to help brothers in their time of need. Andrew received the award for his willingness to mentor, guide, and share his love of music with his fellow brothers, who were inspired by Andrew and went on to pursue building a business of helping others.
In personal news, I would like to share with you all that I have been named Maine’s School Counselor of the Year! In addition to being honored here in Maine, I was invited to attend a fabulous awards gala in Washington, DC. That’s all for now, classmates! Please keep the notes coming!
