Four UMaine alumni have joined the UMaine Alumni Association’s board of directors following their election at the Association’s annual membership meeting on June 18.
Pictured on the top row, left to right, are Sue McKechnie Bernier ’88 of Verona Island, the chief philanthropy and marketing officer for the Rockland-based Island Institute; and Katie Foster ’12 of Hampden, legal and compliance officer at R.H. Foster Energy, one of Maine’s largest retail fuel providers. Pictured below them, left to right, are Sarah Pacheco Gallant ’12 of Harpswell, manager of financial planning and analysis with Covetrus, a global animal-health technology and services provider based in Portland; and Ukeme Awakessien Jeter ’04 of Upper Arlington, OH, an intellectual property attorney with Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co.
At the June 18 meeting, membership also re-elected Board Chair Rob Frank `88 of Winterport, Vice-Chair Kristen McAlpine `06, `08 of Hampden, and Treasurer Justin Labonte of Morristown, NJ to another one-year term. Frank is senior principal and chief business development officer of WBRC Architects/Engineers; McAlpine is assistant vice president and senior business development & sales officer for The First National Bank; and Labonte is director of planning and analysis for Emerson Electric, a global manufacturing and engineering firm.
