On August 8th, the Houlton Congregationalist Church held a special service of Celebration and Leave Taking as they met for the last time after 210 years as a religious organization in the Houlton community. The celebration was held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Houlton and included a luncheon in the church parlor hosted by Barbara Erickson, Betty Loew White, and members of the U.U. Society. A complete history of the Houlton Congregational Church is now part of the Aroostook County Historical and Art Museum collection in the White Memorial Building, a handsome 1903 Colonial Revival house, located in Houlton, and well worth a visit.
I hope that my classmates will continue to stay in touch. Please drop us a line or two.
