Hello, Class of 2010! I hope everyone is enjoying the summer.
In December 2021, the University of Maine announced the hiring of a new head football coach, and it just so happens to be a 2010 classmate. Jordan Stevens was an All-Colonial Athletic Association and All-New England defensive end for the Black Bears and was a team captain his senior year. Before being hired by the University, he was the assistant head coach, co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at Yale University. A native of Temple, Maine, Jordan is married to Ellen Sherwood Stevens, and they have two children.
After graduating from the University of Maine, Nicole Ellis taught fifth grade in New Hampshire. She took a few years off from teaching when her first child was born but was recently hired to teach fifth and sixth grade math and science in Edgecomb, ME. She and her husband, Aaron, now live in Damariscotta with their two children.
Zachary Hackett has landed a new job in Bangor at BroGue Insurance and Financial Services. After graduating from the University of Maine with a degree in business management, he worked in hospitality and retail management before beginning work in the insurance field four years ago. Zachary is licensed to work in property and casualty and life and health insurance.
As always, please remember that if you or another classmate has experienced a personal or professional accomplishment or has news to share with the class, send me a note through email or social media so it can be included in future columns.
Have a great remainder of your year and I look forward to catching up with you all soon.
