Greetings, Class of 1986! Hoping your summer is full of all the good things in life!
It was great hearing from Julie LeMoine. That’s Dr. LeMoine now! Despite the challenges of COVID, Julie completed her Ph.D. in applied augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) as well as 3D gaming for health and wellbeing from the University College Dublin in the area of inclusive design and creative technology innovations. In addition to this, she’s taken a position as assistant professor of neurobehavioral technology at UMass Chan Medical School, leading the research in applied eXtended Reality (XR) and 3D gaming to assist individuals with autism and other neuro-challenges. She’s also the medical school’s faculty lead in XR-Ed. Julie says she visits Maine often, seeing family and friends in the Bath area and staying at a summer cabin in Georgetown.
After 33 years of service with the Maine State Police, John Cote retired in September 2022. An Aroostook County native, Cote joined the Maine State Police in 1989 and served much of his career at Houlton’s Troop F. In 2018, he was appointed to lead the Maine State Police. John will continue working as the Eastern region director of safety for Hartt Transportation Systems in Bangor.
Take care and don’t forget to raise the steins a few times this summer!
