Greetings, Class of 2015! We’re entering the holiday season as I write this, although we don’t have snow that’s sticking around yet here in central Maine. For those of you who made it to Homecoming, I hope you enjoyed yourselves, and was sorry to miss it myself this year. Perhaps we’ll cross paths at the Alfond, with the men’s hockey team in particularly fine form so far this season.
Congratulations to Annabelle Hamilton for being inducted to the UMaine Sports Hall of Fame this year. Annabelle is one of only two Black Bear field hockey players to earn All-American honors twice, and ranked in the top ten in school history for career goals (35) and assists (25) along with points (95) at the time we all graduated. She was a four-time All-America East selection, former America East Offensive Player of the Year, and Rookie of the Year.
Several of our classmates in law enforcement have achieved distinctions recently, including Jake Powers, who joined the Boothbay Harbor Police Department as a full-time sergeant earlier this year. Joshua Staples was promoted to detective within the Waldo County Sheriff’s Department, where he has served since 2018.
Finally, Daniel Norwood ’16G was elected to serve on the Acton Select Board earlier this year.
I wish all of you the best for a safe and joyful holiday season and a pleasant winter, wherever your path has taken you. Please do get in touch to share news about your own milestones or those of our peers.
