Dear classmates, I hope you are all doing well. The last few months have been busy and happy for us.
Recently, while talking to another member of our class, we realized that our 50th Reunion will be October 2025. I know we are all thinking the same thing — hard to believe so much time has passed. Perhaps it’s not too early to start making plans to return for our 50th!
There is not much in class news that I have received. If anyone has news they would like to see printed here, please forward it to me or to the Alumni Association and they will direct it to me.
After 24 years as the Carrabassett Valley town manager, Dave Cota retired in June. He spent half of the 48 years he has been a town manager in Maine, in that town. We wish him well.
Gus LeBlanc ’80G, a longtime educator and high school team coach in central Maine, passed away this past February. Gus played football at the University of Maine and graduated with a bachelor’s in history and a master’s degree in guidance. In 1984 he coached the Dexter Tigers to an undefeated season, earning a state title and winning a Little Ten Conference Coach of the Year award. Gus was busy as interim principal at Lewiston High in 2020-2021. He had been head coach for the Poland Regional High football team since 2020 and received the 2022-23 Dick Mynahan Coach of the Year award. He will be missed by all.
