2024 Black Bear Road Trip: Four States, Seven Stops and Counting!

The University of Maine Alumni Association has made seven stops on the Black Bear Road Trip of 2024 so far.

Beginning in Arizona in February, the UMaine Alumni Association coordinated two stops; one in Scottsdale and one in Tucson, gathering with 40+ alumni and friends.

In March, the team traveled to Florida for three stops to connect with over 300 alumni and friends. Florida’s gatherings consisted of a polo match and alumni gathering at The Villages, a RedSox game at Fenway South in Fort Myers,  and a UMaine baseball game and tailgate in Tampa.

In April, alumni and friends gathered in San Leandro, CA at the home of Evelyn Patterson Gonzalez ’87, and Juan Gonzalez, Ph.D. A week later, Alumni of the Lowcountry gathered in Summerville, SC to enjoy a “Lobster Maine-ia Downeast Feast.”

The next stop on the Black Bear Road Trip of 2024 will be at Fenway Park in Boston. Join fellow alumni and friends on Sunday, May 26 for a pregame gathering in Boston followed by a 1:35 pm game between the Red Sox and Milwaukee Brewers! More details can be found here.

Special guests from Orono have made appearances along the road trip, including a handful of Deans, UMaine Foundation staff, and other Campus Leaders.
