How COVID-19 is Affecting Our Work on Your Behalf
Updated June 1, 2020
We hope you and your loved ones are healthy and managing as well as possible during these stressful times.
Our Association’s staff continue to work remotely in keeping with recommended physical distancing practices. However, we’re maintaining regular work hours and are fully equipped to receive calls and email that are directed to our office.
Though all in-person alumni events have been placed on hold for the summer, we are now hosting free online presentations and social gatherings for our alumni and friends. These “virtual” gatherings have made it possible for alumni from around the world to take part despite geographic distances.
Currently we are hard at work preparing the summer edition of MAINE Alumni Magazine. This edition, which will be distributed to alumni in July, will be longer in page count than in the past. It will feature a special section about how students, alumni, and the university itself have responded to the pandemic. We expect it will become a keepsake, one that will reflect a unique period in our lives.
Be well and take care.
Sincerely,
John N. Diamond ’77, ‘89G
