The UMaine Alumni Association and Franco American Centre are co-hosting a webinar celebrating the release of First Franco: Albert Beliveau in Law, Politics, and Love, a biography of Maine’s first Franco American Supreme Court Justice. The book is published by the University of Maine’s Franco American Programs, in association with the University of Maine Press.
The webinar will take place on Thursday, May 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Eastern) via Zoom.
First Franco author Douglas Rooks will share excerpts from the book and will discuss the research behind it. The webinar will also feature remarks by Justice Beliveau’s son, attorney Severin Beliveau, and the Honorable Leigh I. Saufley ’76, former Chief Justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and the current dean of the University of Maine School of Law.
