Jane Ledyard Lazo (Mrs. Leo M.)
Since no newspaper clippings were available about the class, I went through my correspondence to see what I could find.
It looks like I am going to have to put a permanent sign of NO NEWS below my name on each column from now on.
Sandra Daley Denman’s son-in-law, Rick, was part of the musical staff aboard the American Queen steamboat this past holiday season while her daughter, and Rick’s wife, Donna, were on the slopes at Cannon Mountain, NH, and Mad River Glen, VT, keeping the skiers upright for the entire season. Bob and Lois Danzig McKown are the proud grandparents of ten — five of the boys have graduated and two will do so in May. One of the granddaughters is a freshman at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, MT, where she was recruited for the volleyball team.
Sylvia Gadaire is still tutoring for SATS and ACTS and living in Florida. She is working hard to make sure that Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania, and its pre-med school, etc. keep their enrollments up. Barbara Hasey Andrews writes that they are still doing summers in Maine (big family reunion this past summer), winters in Florida, and in-between time in Waynesburg, PA. Barb and Tom have five great- grandchildren. Tom is still playing tennis and doing piano and chorale events during the holidays. For Barb a normal day includes three different events; she is active with her church in Florida, AAUW, Bible studies, and more.
The Lazos got together at Christmas to see where “Ma” is living now. Christina and hubby Mike, from Alameda, CA; Valerie, hubby Allen, daughters Christina and Evelyn hosted (they are just up the street); and Michael, wife Cathy and kids Jacob, Madeline, and Robert drove from Massachusetts. Michael was pinned as a full Colonel in the Massachusetts National Guard in January. His unit is located at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA. He is still working at Rhode Island Hospital, Christina is artistic director of Musical Theatre Works in San Francisco, and Valerie is an IT analyst at Nationwide Insurance in Columbus.
I wish you all a happy and healthy summer and fall.
