Class of 1976 Summer 2024 Class Note

Summer arrived after a very mild and mostly snowless winter in New England.

John Ferland sent a note stating that he and Anders Beal ’11, ’15G participated in the Conference on US-Chile Climate Action and Energy Transition held in Santiago, Chile. John is the president of Ocean Renewable Power Company based in Portland, ME, and was a panelist discussing the company’s exports of marine energy power systems to Chile.

Bill Green was featured in a December 2023 article in the Bangor Daily News where he talks about the influence that legendary BDN outdoors and sportswriter Bud Leavitt had on his life. Bill is now writing a monthly piece for the paper. Bill is best known for his long-running TV show Bill Green’s Maine.

I received an email from Stephen Davis, who wrote that he retired in 2012 as an engineer from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service working in Michigan. After his 23-year career as an engineer he returned to Maine to care for his parents and went to school to earn an associate degree in nursing. He graduated in 2016. He has been a registered nurse, medical surgical nurse, and emergency medical technician in Aroostook County. He was recognized in 2022 by the Northern Light AR Gould Hospital with the True North Shining Star Award and in 2023 with the Daisy Award for his exceptionally compassionate patient care. Stephen now lives in Ohio near his daughter and grandchild.
