I am writing just after our class got together at Homecoming to celebrate 45 years since our graduation. It was a wonderful time! It was so nice to see so many classmates and to enjoy a really beautiful day on campus. I want to remind the folks who attended to send me news and the class photo. (You promised!)
Thank you to Jim Lafond (president), Mike Booth (vice president), Rick Dodge (treasurer), Pete Hall, and David Ives. I’d also like to thank the university folks, Rebecca Huffstutler, Dee Gardner ’89, and Ashley Nemer Twombly ’10, ’12G, ’60H. This celebration would not have happened without them.
If you were not able to attend — plan to attend our 50th! If you have any ideas about this event or about what we as a class might leave as a gift to the university, please email me. I’ll pass the word along to the leadership team.
On to news from your classmates!
Jim and Lisa Berberian Lafond ’80 continue to live and work in North Andover, MA. They recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary. Jim remains an active skier, cyclist, and hiker and along with Lisa they have been able to achieve a lifelong dream by hiking in the Swiss Alps the past two summers. Jim remains active in community affairs and spends time with his children and grandchildren.
Dale T. Phillips is enjoying his official retirement from the corporate world, but is busier than ever, as you can see from his blog post of new book releases, interviews, and live shows!

Since we didn’t have a lot of classmate news this time (hint hint) I thought I’d tell you a little about me. I retired after 27 years as a school district librarian at MSAD 70 in Hodgdon, ME. It was a great job in a really nice place. My retirement time has been taken up with substitute teaching, working with my local historical society, reading lots of books, and annoying my cats.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
