In June 2018, Nik Rende was promoted to director of information technology for the Maine Legislature. Nik interned with the Maine Legislature in 1989 between our junior and senior years and has been with the legislature for over 20 years. Nik and his wife, Kathy Houghton Rende ’84, live in Augusta with their son.
In the summer of 2018 Joshua A. Tardy joined the law firm of Rudman Winchell in Bangor in the firm’s litigation and real estate sections. He concentrates on civil and criminal litigation, and counsels business clients. He lives in Newport. Also, previously Josh chaired former Gov. Paul LePage’s ’75G Judicial Selection Committee and earned praise from both Democrats and Republicans in shaping LePage’s judicial appointments.
Richard Wahle, Ph.D., a University of Maine marine sciences research professor, was named the director of the Lobster Institute at the University of Maine last September. “The mission of the University of Maine’s Lobster Institute is to conduct research and educational outreach to steward the lobster resource and preserve lobstering as an industry and as a way of life,” said the UMaine press release. Rick earned his Ph.D. in zoology from UMaine in 1990.
