Watching the UMaine men’s hockey team in the NCAA tournament this year reminded me of the incredible trek to the 1988 Frozen Four in Lake Placid, which was freshman year for many of us. That brought up a lot of great memories of friends, college activities, and campus adventures. What was your favorite freshman year memory?
Here are some updates from our classmates in the news. Robert Liebow has been serving as the interim superintendent of schools in School Administrative Unit (SAU) 83 in Fremont, N.H., for the past two years. Formerly, Rob was the Mount Desert Island Regional School System superintendent.
Charles “Chuck“ Nadeau has been appointed the new chief financial officer for Hussey Seating Company in North Berwick. Before joining Hussey, Chuck served as the CFO and COO at Treadwell Franklin Infrastructure Capital and as president at civil engineering firm James W. Sewall Company.
Waldo Caballero is retiring from his position as Orono High School boys soccer coach, a position he’s held since 2010. He was an assistant coach for 10 years before that. Waldo led Orono to an Eastern Maine Championship in 2014. He is still teaching in the school district’s music department and serves as orchestra director.
Congrats to all our classmates! If you have news to share, please send it along to include in the next column. We’d all love to hear what’s going on in your world.
