Class of 1994 Summer 2024 Class Note

Greetings, classmates. We are rapidly approaching our 30th Reunion. While it seems impossible to believe that it has been that long and that we are old enough to have graduated 30 years ago, the Alumni Association has confirmed that our math is correct and there will be a gathering of the Class of 1994 at Homecoming on October 19, 2024. Your dedicated class correspondents will be there and hope at least a few of you will make an appearance, too! Mark your calendars and book a hotel room and get ready to party like it’s 1994, except with an earlier bedtime and a few more aches and pains.

Speaking of 30 years — Mitchel Smith, one of the owners of Greenway Equipment Sales, is celebrating 30 years as a John Deere Dealer. The Smith family purchased Greenway Equipment Sales in Ellsworth in March of 1994 and have an additional location in Bangor. Cal Ingraham was inducted into the UMaine Sports Hall of Fame. While at UMaine, Cal set the record for goals and power play goals in a single season. He is now an insurance executive and lives in Star, ID. Cary Weston is running for the open District One seat on the Penobscot County Commission. Two other UMaine alums are also running for the seat. Alice Reynolds Briones, a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel and Hampden native, was appointed to lead the Maine medical examiner’s office. Before earning her M.D. and becoming an officer in the U.S. Air Force, Alice earned a B.A. in clinical laboratory sciences from UMaine.
