Hearty Maine Hello from Northern Virginia!
Congratulations to Jaime Carroll Stone on being named Maine’s National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) Principal of the Year for the School Year 2021-2022. She is the principal at Campden Rockport Middle School, where she has served since 2014. After graduating, Jamie was an eighth-grade teacher, athletic director, and basketball coach at Sedgwick Elementary School. The following year, she moved to Queen Anne School in Prince George’s County, MD, to be a math and social studies teacher. There she later became the academic manager and career counselor teacher before becoming the director of the Academic and Career Exploration Program’s founding math teacher in 2002. Jamie was an educational consultant in Maryland for several years and then was a Mid-Atlantic and national school designer for expeditionary learning schools. She earned her master’s degree in 2006, and became a middle and elementary school principal in 2009. Jaime also received the New England League of Middle Schools A+ Administrator Award in 2016.
Seth Meyer was a top 10 finalist for Tennis Channel’s top tennis coach in 2021. He has been the tennis director and head pro at Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport since 2005. Seth has been working as a full-time tennis pro since 2001. Seth was previously recognized by USTA New England as tennis family of the year in 2018. He runs two benefit tournaments annually, and the Maine Tennis Association (MTA) named him Tournament Director of the Year in 2012, 2013, and 2016. He also received the humanitarian award from the MTA in 2018. Seth is married to Erin Sullivan Meyer ’99.
