Hello, Class of 2000, we are hitting that point in our careers where we are achieving some big things! Here are a few examples:
Jerry Douglass (public management and parks & recreation) was hired as the new town manager for Durham, following extensive experience managing public works in Brunswick.
In his 14th year as the head coach of the Brunswick girls’ basketball team, Sam Farrell (education) led his girls to their second regional championship in the past six years. To top it off, Sam was named Class A South Coach of the Year!
How about this story: After dating in Orono but then separating for careers and families, Alison Hall (child development & family relations) and Ben Lavigne (elementary education) were married in Cape Elizabeth on July 30, 2022. After moving out of state — Ali to Virginia and Ben to Alaska, they reconnected via social media and now reside in Burke, VA. Ali is the registrar for Strayer University and Ben is a trainer for CRI.
William Post G (public administration) recently was appointed city manager for Waterville, after serving as assistant manager since last spring.
Thanks to her nearly 20 years of volunteer service with SeniorsPlus, Pat Vampatella ’00 Ed.D. (College of Education and Human Development) was recognized by UnitedHealthcare as a 2022 New England Champion! Pat retired as dean of academic affairs at Central Maine Community College. She has a history of civic engagement in her town of New Gloucester, serving in various capacities.
Congrats to all our classmates, and keep sending in your notes!
