Class of 2002 Summer 2024 Class Note

Hello, Class of 2002!

Congratulations are in order for Kathryn Downs Caiazzo, who was promoted to regional vice president of sales for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Maine. Prior to joining Anthem, Kathryn was a nurse for 11 years at Maine Medical Center.

Brad Wolverton recently joined the County Federal Credit Union in Caribou as chief financial officer. Before joining CFCU, Brad served as plant controller for Huber Engineered Woods in Easton, ME.

Congratulations to Joyce Chiavacci, who was awarded one of 500 grants for $2,500 for classroom wishes through Fiesta Bowl Charities during the Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers Draft Day presented by SRP. Joyce serves as a reading intervention teacher at Liberty Arts Academy, a public charter school located in Mesa, AZ. Joyce’s wish was to purchase iPads for her class. So cool!

Andre R. Grimard G has been promoted to Research Coordinator II at Maine Health Institute for Research. Grimard is currently working on Atenolol for the Prevention of Osteoporosis, to determine whether treating healthy post-menopausal women with a common beta-blocker (atenolol) can help prevent bone reduction.

Finally, being local to UMaine, there was certainly a buzz in the air as both the women’s basketball and men’s hockey teams made postseason runs. Congratulations to both teams for successful seasons; the future’s looking bright!
