Hello, Class of 2002!
Wow, what a great Homecoming and Reunion weekend! The weather held for tailgating at the football game on Saturday and the team came away with an exciting win against Monmouth.
We had a small but mighty gathering that was able to connect over the weekend. Several were able to gather over a drink at Orono Brewing on Friday night and we had another small group gather at the Class of 2002 tent next to Alumni Village.
I’d like to give Gus Burkett ’05G a huge thanks for picking up some munchies for the tailgate and grabbing some great photos over the course of the weekend. Be sure to check out the photos on our class Facebook page.
Sean Birkel is a research assistant professor at UMaine’s Climate Change Institute. He was interviewed last summer by Maine Public Radio regarding the drought that plagued the state. In the southwestern part of the state, there were reports of wells going dry, and Sean noted that the state needed more rain to make up the precipitation deficits.
