Greetings, Black Bears! As I write this, we are finishing up a week of hosting friends from Maine who made the journey down to visit us. It was great showing them around our little piece of Texas. Soon we’ll be heading back for our annual trip home and I’m looking forward to some lake time and that salty, sea air with my family.
It was a little slim on the class updates this season, so if you have any news you’d like to share for the next issue please don’t hesitate to reach out to me! Here is what we do have! Amanda Cyr, who earned her degree in new media, sent in an update that she moved back to Maine in recent years and has taken a job at the Auburn School Department. She’s also returned to UMaine to continue her education and is completing some master’s plus credits. Welcome back, Amanda!
Douglas Morrison was promoted to vice president of New England operations at Sargent Corp, an employee-owned contracting company based in Stillwater. He has been with the company for over 20 years and has held various positions there since getting his engineering degree from UMaine. Congrats, Doug!
And in retirement news, Tim Reynolds G has ended his tenure as associate head of school at Washington Academy. Tim joined the staff of WA in 2009 after working for over 20 years in other schools around Maine, as a grade 6-8 teacher in Machias, principal at Machias High School, followed by a couple years at Fort O’Brien Elementary. It sounds like it has been quite the remarkable career. Congratulations, Tim, on making such an impact on your school, students, and colleagues.
Happy summer to all of you and send in those stories!
