Jessamine Irwin created a film, The Intersection, which examines the distinct yet intersecting groups of Lewiston’s French-speaking residents — descendants of Canadian immigrants and the more recent immigrants from African countries. The 32-minute film focuses on the immigrant experience and the friendship between Cecile, whose ancestors settled in Lewiston in the 1840s, and Trésor, a Congolese man seeking asylum. The two build a bond around their common first language, French. See the trailer at: tinyurl.com/2pwjhaj2.
