Hillary Hoyt, who teaches third grade at Leroy H. Smith School in Winterport, ME, received a $25,000 Milken Educator Award during a surprise assembly in April. Hillary is one of just two educators in Maine and among more than 60 nationwide to receive the recognition during the 2021-2022 school year. Hillary is known for her innovative lessons that stress collaboration and prioritize children’s individual needs to improve their learning outcomes. With her colleagues, she also created a series of math videos. Hillary mentors student teachers and has assumed leadership roles both at her school and in her community.
Congratulations!
