I hope you are all well. I recently moved to a new apartment in Portland on the West End and I’m enjoying another summer in Maine! Our class has been up to some exciting things; here is the news I’ve received:
Lauren Williams is a newly credentialed registered dietitian working at two community hospitals in New Hampshire. She works to aid patients with nutrition support during their illnesses including cancer, diabetes, and malnutrition.
Moriah Geer of Old Town, who has been working on her master’s degree in social work, works for Maine Equal Justice Partners.
Devin Shore was traded in February to the Columbus Blue Jackets from the Anaheim Ducks.
Jake Leithiser was inducted into the Old Town High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
Stephen Roberts is a crime and courts reporter for the Virginia Gazette in Williamsburg. In April 2019, at the annual banquet for the Virginia Press Association, he won four first-place awards and one second-place award for his reporting. He also won a best-in-show award for all non-daily news writers in Virginia.
Patrick Ricard has extended his contract with the Baltimore Ravens through 2021.
Former members of the UMaine women’s basketball team are currently competing professionally across Europe. Milica Mitrovic (Partizan – Serbia), Mikaela Gustafsson (Telge Basket – Sweden), Chantel Charles (Clarinos – Spain), and Anna Heise (Jahn Muenchen – Germany).
Matt England has been appointed assistant swim coach at Skidmore College in Saratoga, NY.
Ben Hutton has signed a one-year contract to continue his National Hockey League career with the Los Angeles Kings.
John Dennis is the cultural director for the Aroostook Band of Micmacs, where he offers classes on Micmac language and culture, helps coordinate events, and leads groups for folks in recovery from addiction.
Nicole King is a food and nutrition coordinator for Northern Light Health’s community health and grants department. She is hosting workshops and organizing farm tours for food service directors to help increase the purchase of locally grown foods.
Audra Richards has signed with the Minnesota Whitecaps of the National Women’s Hockey League.
