In sports and athletic news:
Emilie Brigham has signed a contract with the DEC Salzburg Eagles from Austria in the Elite Women’s Hockey League! Emilie was the Black Bears’ leading scorer her sophomore season, and has been described by head coach Richard Reichenbach as a “creative player who will add skill and leadership to the DEC Salzburg Eagles.” Congratulations, Emilie!
Teal Jackson was one of five to join the Brewer High School Athletic Hall of Fame on September 20th, and the first student-athlete to join in the first year of eligibility. She is an accomplished track-and-field performer who has won eight state championships, set two state records, and still holds eight school records. She was also a three-time “Performer of the Meet” at the EMITL championships and was the 2013 Brewer High School Athlete of the Year.
In other news, Charles “Chuck” Hamm G was unanimously granted the position of head of Islesboro Central School in August 2018. Chuck received his master’s in educational leadership at the University of Maine in 2017, and has been engaged in both education and leadership in the Belfast area for many years. Under his leadership, ICS is rolling out an Instagram feed, revamping their website, and is undertaking a large solar project in collaboration with ReVision Energy.
