Class of 2017 Summer 2024 Class Note

Spencer Carey, who previously served as the UMaine Football team’s outside linebackers coach, was promoted to recruiting coordinator in 2023 and last winter became the special teams coordinator and cornerbacks coach. Spencer worked with the football teams at Harvard and Bates and coached at Maine Maritime Academy before joining his alma mater.

Alexandria Wilson Gayton was among the recipients of the first place Eastern Region Social Media Education Award at a conference for National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences last fall.

Alex says: “After graduating in 2017 I completed my dietetic internship in Philadelphia and became a Registered Dietitian in 2018. I moved back to Orono in 2020 with my husband, James Gayton ’19, to work for the UMaine Cooperative Extension Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) as the assistant EFNEP coordinator and social media coordinator. Kendra Ramsell works at Sebago Technics, a South Portland-based engineering firm.

Congratulations to Robin Arnold, who was named UMaine’s 2023 Outstanding Classified Employee. The award recognizes her exceptional service and dedication to UMaine. Robin is the administrative specialist for financial services at UMaine’s School of Social Work and has worked in various departments on campus for 37 years.

Gregory Morrison and Connor Morrison are the fourth generation of the Morrison family to earn degrees from UMaine. Their family was recognized by the UMaine Alumni Association with the Fogler Legacy Award in April.

Dakota Stewart was one of four Maine state troopers who were struck by a driver in Hollis last August. The troopers were investigating a family dispute when a driver veered into them. Dakota broke several bones in his foot in the accident. We hope you’re healing well!

Amber Boutiette ’19G and Patrick Breeding, ’19G, co-founders of Marin Skincare, were included in MaineBiz’s “40 Under 40.” They have developed Marin into a profitable company while maintaining their values and helping people with chronic skin conditions. Patrick was chosen to participate in the Maine Center for entrepreneurs’ Visionary Leadership Program last spring.
