Hello, fellow Class of 2019 Black Bears! I am happy to share the great things the Class of 2019 is doing in their communities, near and far. Several UMaine faculty and alums shared their writing at Readingpalooza, an event that allows local writers to share their work directly with their audiences and see their reactions. Micah Valliere (degree in English and classics) shared his works at the event to help revive experiences like this in the Orono/Bangor area.
Francesca Gundrum G started her career as a seasonal wildlife biologist at Maine Audubon in 2020. After two years at Maine Conservation Voters/Alliance as a communications manager, she returned to Audubon in 2022. She was recently promoted to director of advocacy for the organization.
