Casey Crowley is playing for the New Zealand team the Vantage Black Sticks. This FIH Pro League for field hockey plays against teams from other countries. Check out the team’s stats and info at blacksticksnz.co.nz/.
Michael Perreault G is the executive director of the Maine Film Center in Waterville. In November 2022, he was presented with the Central Maine Growth Council and KV Connect (of the greater Waterville area) 2022 Emerging Leader of the Year Award for his work in empowering filmmakers throughout the country. He manages the Maine Film Center’s Maine International Film Festival to showcase Maine and New England’s most innovative and creative filmmakers.
The Verrill law firm welcomes Brody J. Haverly-Johndro to its Portland office. Brody joins the Energy, Telecommunications, and Natural Resources Group. His prior experience includes serving as a law clerk for Energy and Government Relations practice groups and at the US Environmental Protection Agency.
Marwa Hassanien G was reelected to the Bangor School Committee. She is the committee chair.
Former UMaine shortstop Jeremy Peña was the first rookie hitter to win the World Series MVP award while playing for the Houston Astros. He also won the Gold Glove Award and AL Championship Series MVP Award in 2022. He is the first hitter to win all three of these awards in his rookie year!
I have some news about myself. Next year, I will be the PK-8 educational technology lead for the Mount Desert Island Regional School System. In this position, I will assist teachers in the district’s schools in using technology for differentiating instruction, providing engaging learning, and engaging in discussions on the latest research on educational technology.
