Hello, Class of 2019 alumni! It is great to see members of the Class of 2019 succeed in their careers here in Maine.
Rebecca Schuman was appointed as associate financial advisor in the Penobscot Financial Advisors’ Portland office. Rebecca was an intern at Penobscot Financial during college while studying finance and international business and returned to PFA after working as an account manager for Stone Coast Fund Services.
UMaine graduate Nina Mahaleris visited journalism classes in April as part of the 2023 Alan Miller Fund Visiting Journalists program. Nina is now an audience engagement editor for the Lewiston Sun Journal. The Alan Miller Fund Visiting Journalists program was established in memory of Alan Miller, a longtime professor of journalism at UMaine, to bring working journalists into the classroom. Nina received the 2019 Brooks Hamilton Award at graduation for exemplifying the spirit of journalism. To have her return to UMaine and inspire and educate future journalism students is fantastic.
Sebago Technics promoted some Black Bear alumni, including Alex Jakubowski, to surveyor and survey construction services coordinator. Sebago Technics is a South Portland-based engineering collective.
Connect with other Black Bear alumni in a variety of ways! Check out the alumni event calendar at umainealumni.com to see if the Alumni Association is coming to a location near you, sign up for an alumni webinar, or of course, you can always come back home to campus!
