As we begin a new year, we look forward to one that we hope is filled with more normalcy. Despite the state of the ongoing pandemic, the Class of 2020 has remained busy!
Trevor Delaite had a standout season at Liberty University as a graduate transfer on their baseball team. He finished the year with the most wins in a season in Liberty program history by posting a 12-1 record with a 2.17 ERA over 16 starts. Trevor was also named to the 2021 ABCA All-American Team; the teams are voted on by the members of the American Baseball Coaches Association. Trevor was one of six finalists for the National Pitcher of the Year.
Mitch Fossier has moved overseas to Banská Bystricia, Slovakia, after inking a deal with the HC05 of the Tipos Extraliga, the top Slovak league for professional hockey.
Jackie Bellefontaine is a weather observer and an educational specialist at the weather observatory on top of Mount Washington. Jackie’s work in the extreme conditions atop Mount Washington were recently featured in CNN, NHPR, ABC affiliate stations, and many more.
Desiree Vargas helped lead a professional development program in partnership with the University of Maine Hutchinson Center on racial equity, implicit bias, and diversity training. The program was designed to further participants’ understanding of the topics and move beyond simply reflecting, and towards actively creating a more equitable world.
Tanner Goodine and Alexander Plescia, both graduates of the College of Engineering, were hired by Sebago Technics. Tanner was hired as a construction inspector/field engineer, and Alex was hired as a survey technician.
