R. Lizzie Wahab, UMaine’s vice president for enrollment management, recently met with the Alumni Association’s board of directors to update the board on student recruitment strategies. The Alumni Association is collaborating with Wahab’s office to connect alumni with prospective students and their influencers, primarily parents and high school guidance counselors.
One of Wahab’s ongoing initiatives involves a regional marketing campaign promoting the university’s “Flagship Match” scholarship program, which allows academically qualified students from outside of Maine to attend UMaine at their home-state’s in-state tuition rate. Another initiative, the “Flagship Scholarship Program,” provides scholarship assistance to Maine residents.
UMaine’s current student enrollment is 11,404. Slightly more than 2,000 of those students are enrolled in graduate programs.
