Julia A. Munsey of Bangor, board chair of the 109,000-member UMaine Alumni Association, this morning offered the following statement regarding the appointment of Dannel Malloy, former Connecticut governor, as chancellor of the University of Maine System.
“We are excited to meet Mr. Malloy and look forward to working alongside him as advocates for investment in Maine’s students, economy, and public universities. We also offer our thanks to Chancellor Page for his leadership and service in support of our state. We wish him well.”
Founded in 1875, the UMaine Alumni Association advocates for policies and resources that strengthen the quality, reputation, and value of Maine’s flagship, land-grant university. The alumni association is a 501c3 organization located in Orono but with members throughout Maine, in all 50 states, and in 112 countries.
